Gargiulo, Miriam E.
of Wellington, Florida, died Monday, November 14, 2016. Miriam was born in Havana, Cuba on October 12, 1943. She was the daughter of Raul Ramirez and Esther Bernal Ramirez. Miriam is survived by her son, Anthony Gargiulo of Alameda, CA; daughter, Patricia Boxold of Wellington, FL; son-in-law, David Boxold; her three grandchildren, Andy, Elizabeth, and Victoria; and brother, Eduardo Ramirez of Ocala, FL. Miriam recently suffered the loss of her beloved husband, Frank J. Gargiulo on September 24th. She was also pre-deceased by her parents and brother, Raul Ramirez.

of Wellington, Florida, died Monday, November 14, 2016. Miriam was born in Havana, Cuba on October 12, 1943. She was the daughter of Raul Ramirez and Esther Bernal Ramirez. Miriam is survived by her son, Anthony Gargiulo of Alameda, CA; daughter, Patricia Boxold of Wellington, FL; son-in-law, David Boxold; her three grandchildren, Andy, Elizabeth, and Victoria; and brother, Eduardo Ramirez of Ocala, FL. Miriam recently suffered the loss of her beloved husband, Frank J. Gargiulo on September 24th. She was also pre-deceased by her parents and brother, Raul Ramirez.
In 1963, Miriam fled communist Cuba with her mother on a treacherous, 11-day journey across the Straits of Florida. Miriam established her new life and raised a beautiful family in West Palm Beach, Florida. She retired from the Palm Beach County Health Department as an HIV Counselor in 2005. Miriam will be forever remembered for her bold sense of humor and enduring joy for life.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at QUATTLEBAUM FUNERAL, CREMATION & EVENT CENTER, 6411 Parker Avenue, West Palm beach, FL 33405. In lieu of flowers, donations may be offered to "The Raul Ramirez Diversity in Journalism Fund" at The San Francisco State University.
